The following major routes have "No Winter Maintenance" during the winter months. Winter activities such as snowmobiling are very popular along these roads:

    Road 8, North Fork from mile post 30.5 east to the county line.
    Road 17, Buford-New Castle from mile post 40.3 south to the county line.

We attempt opening these roads around Memorial Day, however the exact date depends upon winter snow and ice accumulations.
