Purpose:
Manage, plan, facilitate, coordinate, and maintain standards for land use, natural resources and environmental health to protect the safety, health and welfare of the Citizens of Rio Blanco County and prevent deterioration of their quality of life and the deleterious effects that can occur from unplanned use of the various resources and natural conditions of the county while maintaining the viability of each various interrelated activity.
Activities:
The department was restructured to follow a systems based management approach in 2000. The list of documents and planning activities that are ongoing in implementing the objectives of the management system are as follows:
